TOEM: Captured Through the Lens of Localization
» TOEM was one of our loveliest projects. The game’s whimsical world and quirky characters came alive through playful, creative translations. From naming locations to adapting dialogue, every detail was carefully crafted to maintain its wonderful charm.
Our team did great work on this game, and we received a lot of praise from Turkish players. It felt like capturing the perfect snapshot — simple, warm, and full of heart.
My favourite creative naming was ‘Baklaviç’ for the ‘Hotbean’ truck in the game. A combination of “bean” and “sandwich” in Turkish, it oozes sweetness due to its similarity to the Turkish sweet pastry baklava. It sounds like a proper food, even though it’s a made-up word. Yummy «
