I NAMED PLANETS.


»Outer Wilds was a special localization experience for me. Even the main action of the game is translation. Translating and deciphering ancient Nomai text with your ‘translator’ device. So it was so dear to me. I had to come up with a special style of communication for this ancient, inter-galactic race of scientist-space explorers. I am happy with my solution:  a combination of scientific precision with an antiquated flair.

I translated quantum poetry, with verses changing whenever you look away. I named planets. My favourite was ‘Yabanyıldızı’ [the Wildstar].«
